It's hard to imagine that over a century ago, Hope Town Primary School first opened its doors to the eager young minds of our community.  Founded by Loyalists who sought to provide their children with a quality education, the school has undergone remarkable growth since then- but remained close to it’s cultural roots.

Today, in addition to the British Bahamian curriculum the school  teaches, we offer extra curricular programs like Eco Club, choir lessons, musical instrument lessons, Junkanoo, art classes and more.  With dedicated teachers, supportive parents, motivated students and a caring community, we have fostered an environment of curiosity and learning our adventurous ancestors can be proud of.

Exposing children to new ideas is a powerful vehicle for enriching their lives. By immersing them in a diverse range of concepts, cultures, and perspectives, we empower young minds to think critically and embrace the world around them. These opportunities encourage curiosity, creativity, and empathy, cultivating a generation of open-minded individuals ready to tackle the challenges of the world!

Engaging in extracurricular activities can help reduce stress, improve mood, and provide children with a sense of purpose.  It can also help them to feel more connected to the world around them. At HTPS, we encourage our students to take advantage of the programs we offer, such as individual music lessons, athletic classes and clinics, Junkanoo, Eco Club and more. Participating in extracurricular activities builds teamwork, communication, relationships, and a sense of belonging, all of which help students to develop socially while having fun and learning a new skill.
